Hair cut during the waning moon is said to grow back more slowly and stay in shape longer - useful if you have a style you want to maintain between cuts. Waning moon timing is recommended for haircuts when longevity of the cut is the priority, not speed of regrowth.

The waning phase also favors eliminating rather than adding. Treatments for oily skin, detoxifying masks, depilation, and anything aimed at reducing or clearing work better in this window, according to lunar beauty tradition.

The new moon is the resting point - the quietest phase. Most traditions suggest minimal intervention here and treat it as a renewal reset before the next waxing cycle begins.
